Velia, Dear

The story of “Velia, Dear” begins when Velia, a young woman living the single urban life sacrifices her independence to move in with her elderly mother, a head-strong Italian widow. Click here for the “Velia, Dear” origin comic.

	Velia is a second generation Italian/Canadian woman whose independence is threatened by the state of her mother’s well-being.
	Mrs. Nancy Rossi is the aging Italian-born matriarch whose declining health is daughter Velia’s reason to move back home.
	Lou is Velia’s boyfriend. He’s always trying to get in Velia’s ma’s ‘good books’.
	Connie is Velia’s dim-witted but loveable aunt and younger sister of Nancy.
	Vicky is Vel’s best frienda since junior high. She’s loose, wild, and sleeps around a lot.
