Very funny. No surprise, my Mom sometimes calls me “testarda”, which means stubborn woman. I like this word because to me it sounds just like what it means – even if you didn’t know that “testa” means head. So it doesn’t really mean stubborn – it really means hard-headed. That’s why I like literal translations. They have more flavor..
I love “testarda”! I was always called “shema” which means silly. And once, my grandmother called me “pianeta”– i think I must’ve been running in circles, like a planet, around her.
