Ah! May I offer the young lady a drink for her spit-take?
Now I have to go back to I-Puncha-You-Facebook and read a bit closer!
Once again, you’ve plot-twisted the knife in our backs!
Okay, that’s all I’ve got.
Yeah, Neil — she’s going to need that drink! Make it a Pinot Noir. Make it a bottle.
Oooh, art forgery. I’ve read a couple of great books about forgers and it’s about time the comic strip world attacked this subject!
Ha Ha! NOW this is REALLY getting to be interesting….just when I was beginning to believe that old Gianni might be TOO good to be true!! -Love it! Keep on “weaving”!!!
Oh dear…I’m very apprehensive about this turn of events! Can’t wait to see how this unfolds – I’m predicting that Lou will finally stop simpering and end up saving the day in some way down the road. Rina, I hope there is not a finite run for this strip? At the risk of sounding like a total nerd, I look forward to seeing what’s going on with Vel each week and would be sad to see her story come to a permanent close.
Thank you, Toronto Girl! I don’t have definite plans for the strip, but I can assure you this story will continue on well into the next few months (and the strip into the next year, for sure!) The advantage of having a comic strip be your medium for telling a story is that it never really has to have an “ending”, but can continue on into new story arcs. However, that doesn’t mean that I won’t resolve things. I think any good story needs to have closures, and conclusions — It would be sloppy of me to leave things hanging! …. oh, and you don’t sound like a nerd! (unless you want to sound like a nerd– hee hee)
Stephen — I’m extremely interested in the whole art forgery business — it’s not just crime, but crime that brings up fundamental questions about the world of art, the business of art, and art itself. Plus, I didn’t want to use the Mafia genre thing because it would’ve been too obvious — and the whole mafia thing is so overplayed, and over-used in entertainment.
Having said that– I don’t want to bar myself from using it in the future.. ha ha!
Thanks Tom! I’ve got the loom spinning..:)
Oooh, I like this twist–can never get enough of art forgery stories…
Resolution is good for sure, Rina. It would get boring if a story never had an ending. I just wouldn’t want to see closure come in the form of Velia swimming with the fishes! It would officially make me a total nerd to be mourning a comic character :0)
