   Rina,
   Father Benedito should consider becoming a priest in the Anglican Church of Canada or the Episcopal
   Church in the US. It’s been done many times. Virtually the same Mass and clothes. But different heirarchy, different traditions. Priests are allowed to marry, and most of them do. Then he and Velia could come out of the tunnel and live happily ever after. But wait –maybe sneaking around is what’s fun for them, and you said happily ever after is boring. So…

   I love her use of “exaggeratement” instead of “exaggeration”, its just makes her personality feel so much more genuine.

   It does make one wonder exactly what Aunt Sonia was doing in the church all that time…? Perhaps she put a scrap of tape on the confessional door to show if it had been opened.
