It might be interesting to get Gianni’s opinion of the subject of the art. Crumb does beautiful linework, but his best-known work, to put it politely, is often as controversial as a Mapplethorpe.
Hopefully, too, within the next few weeks, the story-line wends it’s way toward an explanation of the association between Gianni and Vel’s father…I kinda’ have a feeling that the late papa Rossi’s past life will not come out smelling like a rose, but rather like EXTRA anchovies!
I think I can guess some of Gianni’s reaction – it’s a cartoon, as opposed to fine art. And that won’t sit well with Old School thought, regardless of the subject of the piece.
