Today’s “Velia, Dear” strip marks the end of the first “Velia, Dear” story — or does it? The beauty of writing a comic strip is in the medium’s amazing flexibility in terms of continuity. I can go nearly anywhere with this strip now, and I will. It’ll be for you, the reader, to discover the rest.
Some readers will wonder why I’ve resolved certain aspects of the story, while leaving others ominously open to possibility. I’ll let you be the judge of why I decided to end it this way.
On Monday May 16 there will be posted an epilogue to the story, and after that the strip will be in hiatus for two weeks. When it returns, on Wednesday June 1st, “Velia, Dear” will feature two all-new stories: the first will be a 5-strip mini-story, the second a full length story that will continue into the summer. (If you think our gal Velia has had it bad in the past, wait ‘till you see what bizarre situations are in store for her in the future!)
I should also mention that not only is my web comic taking a break, but I myself will be as well. From Monday May 16th to Monday May 30th I will be completely off-line, and without access to the internet. That means no blog updates until I get back. If you need to make an emergency comment, please use the RPFE (Rapid Pigeon Foot-note Express) which I will be checking in on regularly (There will be plenty of pigeons where I’m going).
Thanks for being understanding. I promise to post lots of sketchbook drawings on the blog when I return.
For a “Tina’s Groove” comic, please visit tinasgroove.com where there’s a new strip updated everyday!
As always, thanks for reading!

I’ve been enjoying the story line; you’ve taken it in some interesting & unexpected twists & turns.
Enjoy your break!
Vienna sausage killed me, Rina! This was a fantastic storyline and I’m glad our Vel will be making a return. I am curious to know what was in that locker, though!
Rina, enjoy your very well deserved break! Thank you for taking us on a great, bumpy, roller-coaster of a ride with Velia! We will await, with anticipation, on Vel’s future “fates”. Thanks for the terrific entertainment!
Hey Rina, have a fantastic time. I can’t wait to continue enjoying the Velia Dear comic strip. It is sooooo good – also, I, as well, MUST know what is in the locker…… OK…… You got that?????
Buzz, Ritz, Tom S. and Toronto Girl …. Thanks so much for being avid readers. It really means a lot to me!
I promise to bring you more starting June 1st… and as for what’s inside that locker… maybe I’ll have a contest to see who can guess (when I get back)!
Rina have a great time off. I look forward to the continuation of Veila Dear
