   Oh, what a tangled web… Mom doesn’t look convinced, Velia. You should have taken the bag upstairs with you. It’s going to be a tense few days watching this play out!

   I had dinner with my mother tonight and the auxiliary Bishop in LA who had to resign today when it turned out he had a family on the side, and she mentioned she had two friends, who must be in their seventies now, who each had a sister who had families with priests, like long term monogamous relationships. This was in Latin America. Being Irish I just thought this happened with the housekeeper and was a big secret, but apparently one had a house and the other an apartment in another part of the city. They both had multiple children too.

   But then until not to long ago the office if Papal nephew existed.
