Fr.Ben could become a priest in the Episcopal or Anglican Church (not hard to do — same God, virtually the same Mass, but different rules) and then Velia could marry him. But I bet he won’t.
Ben, I had the same thought, but then my list of sins to confess this Lenten season is too long and dreary already, adding wishing heresy upon two comic strip characters would just make it ridiculous.

I’m not Italian, but surely becoming the priest’s housekeeper was always a traditional female career option, I sure know it was in Ireland, but you had to be a widow first.
